Welcome to my website!

Some of you know that the year 2000 marked my "official retirement" after 50 years of directing undergraduate performing arts at the University of Pennsylvania. Some skeptics believed I would find this new life of mine boring and lacking in the excitement that kept me going during my long career. I even worried about it for a minute or two myself!

Now I wonder how I ever had time to go to work at all! I continue to direct Gilbert & Sullivan operettas in the Spring and the Fall, I've completed my first book, I've fulfilled my lifelong dream of walking on the Great Wall of China, and I've traveled to the South Pacific to visit Pitcairn Island "in the wake of the Bounty." I've also been able to spend longer periods of time on my special island on the coast of Maine - in an idyllic atmosphere for writing music and painting.

Although music has been my life's work, painting watercolors has been a favorite pastime since my college days as a Fine Arts major. After I retired, friends and family began persuading me to start a card company to reproduce some of my Maine watercolors, as well as scenes of historic Philadelphia and other places of interest. It didn't take a lot of arm- twisting!

So there you have it! I have been very pleased with the enthusiastic reception my first series of cards has received and I hope you will like what you see as you explore this site. I have many plans afoot for the growth of my company.
